Résumé / Abstract
According to the latest information the European standard for reinforcing steel, which specifies the requisite classes for designing reinforced concrete, is not expected to be introduced (see European standardization of reinforcing steel). This means that no reference standard for reinforcing steel is available for the reinforced concrete standard. It is therefore necessary to draw up a new material standard for reinforcing steel, a new DIN 488, for the new national design standard for reinforced concrete.
