Chez les malades asymptomatiques, les décès sont rares et moins de 4% des malades par an nécessitent un remplacement valvulaire pour l'apparition de symptômes ou le développement d'une dysfonction ventriculaire gauche. Lorsque le remplacement valvulaire est retardé jusqu'à l'apparition de symptômes, la survie postopératoire est excellente
