Palladium complex-catalyzed carbonylation of arylsulfonyl chlorides in the presence of metal alkoxides M(OR)_n (M=B, Al, and Ti) gives the corresponding esters along with diaryl disulfides. With metal carboxylates M(OCOR)_n (M=Na, K, Ca, Mg, and Zn), the free acids are also obtained
