Résumé / Abstract

Reengineering is a powerful change phenomenon and an approach that has enabled organizations to realize radical process improvement. However, before any of these benefits could be realized, the reengineering team will first have to utilize an appropriate methodology for analysis and design. Although there are claims that the Object-Oriented approach is a more appropriate methodology for BPR than traditional IS methodologies in modeling business processes, there has been no empirical investigation into this issue. In this research, afield study approach is proposed to evaluate the appropriateness ofusing Data Flow Diagram, which is one of the most popular traditional IS methodologies, versus the Object-Oriented approach for business process reengineering. The research proposal is discussed in this paper.
