Résumé / Abstract
This paper explores links between skills management companies' strategy and performances. After a literature review on the topic, the analysis of several french practices confirms differents hypothesis: First, the HR function, in the main cases is mainly focused on skills management of the individuals in line with strategy in a top-down vision. Secondly, several case studies show the need and the attempt of firms for taking into account other skills such as collective skills, strategic skills or network skills. These other dimensions could help companies' performance by a better management of their intellectual and organizational assets. In this context, the paper conclusion underlines differents new roles that could be played by the HR function in a more pro-active process.
