Résumé / Abstract

The yew-tree (Taxus baccata L) is one of the species in danger ofextintion in the largest zones of the Iberian peninsule. Its systematic protection demands, tu start with, an adequate spotting and catalogue of the yews still extant. The available toponomy has shown the author as an by-product instrument, yet extremely usefull for our targets; it will be crystal clear in some precises ocasions. Yet the still-kept toponomy leads us to where there have been yews and they have disappeared. That means that, having in mind the character of the species, is revealing for climate history and botanic science and etnology of the villages. Over the land we have paid attention to the concerned toponomyms in Guadalajara, Madrid and Segovia provinces.
