Résumé / Abstract

The Authors refer the results of a research about the use of organic chromium from yeast as an integrator of turkey feeding. Added to rations at the doses of 200, 300, and 400 p.p.b. from 1 to 150 d of age, chromium has improved the weight gain (resp. 6.8%, 8.7% and 11.5%) and the feed utilization (resp. 8.5%, 13% and 17%). At the doses of 300 and 400 p.p.b., chromium improved also the carcass (resp. + 5.5% and + 8%) and the meat yield (resp. + 6% and + 10%) and reduced the fat yield (resp. -20% and - 33%) and the fat content of meat (resp. -25.5% and -30%). At the dose of 400 p.p.b. chromium improved meat digestibilty (4.5% of digestible protein after in vitro pepsinic digestion) and tenderness (- 33% of connective tissite after in vitro tripsinic digestion Regardless to the dose, organic chromium positively affected the health status, with a strengthening of the organic resistances against the hot stress.
