Résumé / Abstract

Although the encyclical «Fides et Ratio» does not mention Latin America among the great world cultures, the relationship between faith and cultures holds good for this region as well. It is hoped that the changes already set in motion towards establishing a new evangelisation in Latin America - aiming at recognising the identity of a historically and socially stratified sub-continent - may bring about its full integration by taking into account its various local realities.
