Résumé / Abstract

The term urban jungle denotes the biologic assemblage that is established in urban and suburban areas as these areas develop. A major component of the urban jungle is the urban forest-the assemblage of trees, shrubs, and other plants that occupy the urban and suburban zones. Many of these species, planted in abundance by humans, produce powerful allergens that exist in high numbers. The overriding theme of the urban jungle is that it is an artificial structure that exists solely because of the activities of humans.
