Résumé / Abstract

Tuberculosis is still among the major causes of death due to a single infectious agent. Most of the TB cases are confined in developing countries, although the last two decades saw an increase of the TB cases even in industrialized countries. The development of a new and more effective vaccines would provide a powerful tool in the fight against this ancient human scourge. In this commentary, the problems associated with the development of a new vaccine are discussed.
