Résumé / Abstract
Pantheism, as an expression of religious sentiment, is very widely spread in space and time. It has been repeatedly reborn from the most diverse assumptions. In the East it has succeeded in inspiring well entrenched traditions and it holds under its sway several religions, of undiminished strength and vitality. In the West, on the other hand, it has remained a marginal minority view, despite some extremely interesting theoretical developments. In this paper I approach the subject from a global perspective; I put forward a basic typology of pantheism and propose some elementary basic ideas for understanding it.
