Determination of irbesartan in pharmaceutical dosage forms by HPTLC

Résumé / Abstract

A stability-indicating HPTLC method was developed to analyse irbesartan in tablet dosage form. Irbesartan and the internal standard (losartan potassium) was separated on the plate coated with silica gel 60 F²⁵⁴. Chromatograms were developed using a mixture of Ethylacetate : Toluene : Acetic acid, 6 :4 : 0.1 (v/v/v). Quantification was carried out by the use of densitometer absorbance mode at 247 nm. These HPTLC-system was quantitatively evaluated in terms of stability, accuracy and calibration proving the utility in the analysis of its tablet dosage form.
