Résumé / Abstract
The definition given in the DafStb specification for recycled aggregated: Concrete with Recycled Aggregate, dated August 1998, remains valid for such a time that this norm is included in the list of rules and regulation applying for construction. The recycled concrete used exclusively for making concrete per DIN 1045:1988 that is called out in Part 2 of this specification is understood as being concrete aggregate made up of concrete chippings and crushed concrete sand. The aggregate shall be identified in accordance with the requirements of DIN 4226-1: 1983-04. Differentiation from standard aggregate shall be by adding a capitalized R to the designation for the grading/fraction size. Although the concrete produced here in accordance with Part 1 of the specification has to be designated separately in the register of types, this does need not to be explicitly called out as such in the delivery paperwork. Compared to a concrete meeting the requirements of DIN 1045: 1988 with aggregate per DIN 4226-1:1983-04, the equivalence of a concrete made with recycled concrete can however only be approximately attained when the quantities of recycled aggregate that are added are limited in terms of the ambient conditions or the strength class for their use. The concrete aggregate made using concrete chippings and crushed concrete sand will no longer be regulated in future in a specification by rather by the newly revised norm DIN 4226-100. Also, the DafStb specification Concrete with Recycled Aggregate shall apply in future for use as an aggregate in concrete meeting the requirements of DIN EN 206-1/DIN 1045-2. Should this specification not have been amended at the latest by the time the new DIN 4226-100 is introduced, then none of the fraction sizes of the recycled aggregate is suitable for Concrete with Recycled Aggregate. Irrespective of this, further restrictions are to be expected from the authorities supervising construction for its use as an aggregate for concrete.
